THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a major development surrounding the ongoing Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) recruitment scams, the Crime Branch Special Investigation Team (SIT) has named KPSC Chairman Dr. M.R. Baiju as an accused in the Fisheries Extension Officer examination malpractice case. Besides the Chairman, several KPSC members and key administrative officials have also been arraigned as accused. The First Information Report (FIR) states that systematic irregularities denied legitimate job opportunities to eligible candidates.
The action comes closely on the heels of grave allegations regarding the State Planning Board examination, which triggered wider scrutiny into competitive tests conducted for three other prime posts—namely the Khadi Board, Fisheries Extension Officer, and MVD Assistant Inspector. Following confirmations that the SIT would register cases in two of these instances, the Crime Branch formalized the FIR naming the top KPSC leadership.
Concurrently, the investigation team has intensified its probe into the high-level conspiracy behind the State Planning Board exam irregularities. The Crime Branch has summoned KPSC Secretary Saju George for interrogation. He has been directed to appear before the investigating officers at the Crime Branch headquarters today as part of efforts to uncover the masterminds behind the recruitment scandal.
