Cannot Reject Anyone’s Vote; Voters Must Decide, Says Kerala Minister V. Sivankutty.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Amidst intense allegations by the UDF regarding a secret deal between the SDPI and CPM in the Nemom constituency, Minister V. Sivankutty has stated that a candidate cannot handpick who should vote for them. He emphasized that it is up to the voters to decide their choice and that the primary goal is to keep communal forces away from power.

His remarks come after SDPI State President C.P.A. Latheef declared the party’s support for Sivankutty in Nemom. Previously, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had also declined to comment directly on the SDPI’s stance, suggesting that questions regarding their electoral position should be directed to them.

The Chief Minister maintained that the LDF does not adopt opportunistic stands for votes and continues to hold a principled, uncompromising position against all forms of communalism for the welfare of the state. (Kerala News)
