VIJAYAWADA: Marking World Quantum Day, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated India’s first Quantum Reference Facility (QRF) at SRM University, Amaravati. Additionally, the Chief Minister virtually launched the Amaravati Quantum Reference Facility-2 located at Medha Towers in Gannavaram, signaling a significant milestone in India’s technological landscape.
During the event, the Chief Minister expressed his government’s commitment to producing an indigenous quantum computer from Amaravati. Emphasizing that there is no shortage of funds for innovation, he urged collaborators to help realize this ambitious goal. Naidu noted that launching these facilities on World Quantum Day and the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar demonstrates India’s capability in high-end computing and hardware development.
The Chief Minister highlighted that Andhra Pradesh is proud to contribute to the National Quantum Mission, providing a unique opportunity for India to lead in hardware manufacturing. He described Amaravati Quantum 1S and 1Q as fully instrumental hardware test beds, which are essential for validating, benchmarking, and certifying quantum technologies under real operating conditions, ensuring a bright future for the next generation.
