Delhi on High Alert with 30,000 Personnel Deployed Ahead of Opposition March to Supreme Court.

NEW DELHI: Delhi remained on high alert for the third consecutive day on Monday, with over 30,000 police and paramilitary personnel deployed across the capital ahead of an Opposition march to the Supreme Court against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The Opposition has announced the march to demand an end to alleged “vote chori” and Kumar’s resignation, following protests over the weekend in which thousands, including CJP leaders and former chief ministers, were detained.

Security has been tightened at Delhi’s borders, railway stations, bus terminals and other sensitive locations, with over 120 companies of Central Armed Police Forces assisting Delhi Police. The New Delhi district has been divided into 20 zones, while vehicle checks, verification drives at hotels and guest houses, and social media monitoring have been intensified. Entry and exit gates at six Metro stations will remain closed until 4 pm in view of the protest.
