PM Modi remarked that the LDF and UDF have become “pros at lying.” He stated, “When Kerala Files (The Kerala Story) was released, they claimed it was a lie. When Kashmir Files came out, they called it a lie. Now that the film Dhurandhar has arrived, they are again saying it is a lie. Similar lies are being spread about the FCRA and the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).”
The Prime Minister further noted that while Goa has successfully implemented the UCC for decades, the opposition continues to spread misinformation about it, just as they did with the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). He emphasized that it was the NDA government that passed the historic 33% women’s reservation bill for the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies. Referring to the upcoming Parliament session on April 16, 17, and 18 to amend the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, he expressed hope that Congress leaders would listen to the government’s stance.
Films such as Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which focus on national security and military operations, have become political flashpoints. Similarly, The Kashmir Files, depicting the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits, and The Kerala Story, focusing on radicalization, have faced heavy criticism from the Congress and opposition for allegedly portraying sensitive issues through a specific lens.
