Thiruvananthapuram: Easter is being celebrated across the globe, reminding humanity of the profound messages of love and hope. Special prayers and midnight masses were held in churches to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. In Thiruvananthapuram, the Easter Mass at St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Palayam, was led by Archbishop Thomas J. Netto of the Latin Archdiocese of Thiruvananthapuram. In his address, the Archbishop noted that the world is currently living in fear and that ongoing wars are causing immense pain to everyone. He urged the faithful to pray on this Resurrection Sunday for the removal of fear and for an end to global conflicts.

Meanwhile, Cardinal Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis Catholicos called upon the faithful to cast their votes according to their conscience in the upcoming Assembly elections. Speaking during the Easter service at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Pattom, the Cardinal emphasized that every vote is valuable and should not be wasted. He touched upon the introduction of new laws, noting that there are emerging concerns and anxieties regarding them. Furthermore, he highlighted the Church’s commitment to social welfare, mentioning the successful operation of ‘Sneha Bhavanam’ (House of Love), which serves people beyond the Christian community, a fact well-known to all.
