KOLLAM: In a shocking incident of brutality in Kottarakkara, a man chopped off his daughter-in-law’s hand during a domestic dispute. The suspect, identified as Alexander (67), a resident of Kizhaketheruvu in Kottarakkara, severed the left hand of his daughter-in-law, Jims John (32).
Alexander’s wife, Christina (62), also sustained hacked wounds all over her body while attempting to intervene and stop the attack. The horrific incident, which has shocked the local community, took place at around 9:30 PM. The Kottarakkara police have taken the accused, Alexander, into custody.
According to the police, the attack was triggered by a family dispute. A heated argument broke out between Alexander and his wife Christina at their house, following which a provoked Alexander attacked his wife with a machete. Hearing Christina’s screams, the daughter-in-law, Jims John, rushed to the spot. When Jims tried to stop the assault, Alexander turned against her and attacked her.
