DOHA: The Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF), functioning under the aegis of the Embassy of India in Qatar, successfully conducted its 56th Free Medical Camp at the Naseem Surgical & Medical Centre on C-Ring Road. The drive provided comprehensive healthcare and diagnostic services to over 600 underprivileged Indian expatriates, primarily targeting low-income blue-collar workers. The half-day medical camp, held on October 16 from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM, offered free consultation, specialized health checks, diagnostic screenings, and prescription medicines.
Demonstrating a massive community turnout, beneficiaries began queuing outside the venue as early as 6:00 AM. Despite pre-registration closing three days prior due to overwhelming demand, organizers accommodated several walk-in patients on humanitarian grounds. Attending medical staff provided specialist consultations across multiple departments, including General Medicine, Cardiology, Urology, General Surgery, ENT, and Dental Care.
Diagnostic packages included free tests for Fasting Blood Sugar, Body Mass Index (BMI), Total Cholesterol, Complete Blood Count (CBC), and Uric Acid levels. Essential medicines were distributed free of cost in collaboration with the Indian Pharmacist Association Qatar (IPhaQ).
The event was formally inaugurated by Harish Pandey, First Secretary at the Embassy of India and ICBF Coordinating Officer, alongside Prathima Reddy, spouse of Indian Ambassador Dr. K. Srikar Reddy. Compering the inauguration, ICBF General Secretary Deepak Shetty detailed the forum’s humanitarian outreach, noting that this marked the sixth free medical camp organized under the tenure of the current Managing Committee.
