MUSCAT: Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders are required to update the passport details in their OCI card each time a new passport is issued.
Queries have been received from applicants seeking clarification on whether they can travel before their passport updation application is finally acknowledged in the system.
It is clarified that there will be no restriction on the OCI cardholder to travel to or from India during the period from the date of issue of the new passport till the date of final acknowledgement of his or her documents in the online system.
OCI cardholders applying for passport updation are advised to take note of the above guidelines issued by the embassy.
