KOZHIKODE: The mortal remains of Kalariyullathil Arjun, a native of Vellur in Tuneri, Vadakara, who died in an explosion at the Ras Laffan Industrial City in Qatar, will reach his hometown today. The body will be brought to his residence in Tuneri at 5:00 PM. The funeral will be conducted on his residential premises at 8:00 PM.
Arjun had been working as a plant supervisor in this company for the last four years. The explosion occurred on Sunday during maintenance work at a plant in Qatar’s Ras Laffan Industrial City. Thirteen people were killed in the accident. According to information, a technical snag caused the accident. Qatar’s Minister of State for Energy Affairs and QatarEnergy CEO, Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, had announced in a press conference in Doha that 66 people were injured in the mishap.
Ras Laffan Industrial City, located about 80 kilometers north of Doha, is the world’s largest LNG export facility. One-fifth of the global supply is produced from here.
