KASARAGOD: In a highly disturbing incident in Kasaragod, a 19-year-old girl was tied up and brutally raped inside a lodge room. Following the immediate intervention of the local law enforcement, the accused youth, identified as Vishnu, a native of Kasaragod, was arrested by the police. The horrific assault took place inside a private establishment on Monday evening, sending shockwaves across the local community.
According to the police complaint, Vishnu had called the young girl under the false pretext of discussing and resolving some ongoing domestic and family disputes. Believing his words, the victim arrived to meet him, after which he took her to a private lodge situated near the KSRTC bus stand in Kasaragod town. Once inside the room, the accused tied her up and subjected her to a brutal sexual assault, while forcefully taking away her bag and mobile phone to keep her trapped.
However, during a moment when the accused was distracted, the girl tactfully managed to get hold of her mobile phone and immediately dialed her family members to inform them of her life-threatening ordeal. The panicked family members rushed to the Kasaragod Town Police Station and reported the emergency. Though the police team immediately raided the lodge room, the accused had already escaped from the spot. Following a swift and coordinated manhunt launched across the town, the police successfully tracked down and arrested the accused later in the night.
