Workers Strike at KMML, MS Unit: Evictees Protests Against Negligence in Permanent Appointments
CHAVARA: The DCW workers at the KMML MS unit, who were evicted for the company’s expansion projects, launched a strike protesting the management’s failure to regularize their services. The workers alleged that the company took a unilateral decision to appoint only a certain section of workers as casual laborers while ignoring the rightful evictees who had handed over their homes and land for a minimal compensation. The protesters stated that they were forced into this strike due to the ongoing neglect of their priority status. Leaders including AD P. Jermiyas, Santhosh Thuppassery, CP Sudheeshkumar, Jose Vimalraj, Netto, Sinil, Santhosh Idayilamuri, and Sumesh addressed the gathering and demanded immediate justice for the displaced workers.
