THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Ambalappuzha MLA-elect G Sudhakaran stated that Pinarayi Vijayan and party secretary M V Govindan hold responsibility for the CPI(M)’s heavy defeat in the elections. He added that he does not harbour personal enmity in politics. He was speaking to the media in the morning ahead of his swearing-in ceremony as the Pro-tem Speaker today.
“Why should I, someone who has moved away from the party, try to reform it now? I am happy to enter the assembly again as an MLA. I am not interested in debates about whether Pinarayi will take his oath before me. He is also just an MLA like me now. I do not hold any animosity in politics. I decided that I should come to the Legislative Assembly once more, and so I contested independently,” G Sudhakaran clarified.
