ALAPPUZHA: In a shocking incident, a newborn baby was thrown out of a window by its mother at the Haripad Taluk Hospital. An unmarried 19-year-old girl gave birth inside the hospital bathroom. The infant has been rushed and admitted to the Newborn ICU at Vandanam Medical College Hospital. The horrific incident took place today around 1:00 AM.
The 19-year-old girl arrived at the hospital after complaining of severe abdominal pain. She was accompanied by her father and siblings. Upon examination, the doctor asked if she was pregnant, but the girl vehemently denied it. Shortly after, she requested to use the restroom, where she delivered the baby and immediately threw the newborn out of the bathroom window.
The hospital authorities rushed to the spot after hearing the newborn baby’s cries and immediately secured medical attention for the infant. Upon noticing bloodstains in the bathroom, the relatives and staff confirmed that the girl had given birth there. The police have registered a case and initiated a detailed investigation into the incident. The health condition of the baby is reported to be stable now.
