THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The makers of the upcoming Malayalam feature film ‘Uyir’, directed by the acclaimed filmmaker M. Padmakumar, officially unveiled its highly anticipated second look poster. The newly dropped poster features the distinct and intense characters portrayed by versatile youth icon Roshan Mathew, veteran star Baiju Santhosh, ‘Ratsasan’ fame Tamil actor Vinod Sagar, and talented actress Shruthy Menon. The promotional poster has been strategically launched ahead of the movie’s grand worldwide theatrical release scheduled for June 26.
Produced by Santhosh Trivikraman under the prominent production banner of Wow Cinemas, ‘Uyir’ is a well-crafted cinematic adaptation of a gritty, real-life police story. Nikhil K. Menon serves as the line producer for the project. The narrative of the film is deeply rooted in a shocking true event that transpired in the Malabar region of Kerala. The makers have structured the movie entirely as a highly realistic and deeply emotional crime-thriller drama. Packed with unexpected plot twists and rich suspense, the narrative promises to keep audiences on the edge of their seats. The screenplay and dialogue have been co-written by Shaji Marad and Nikhil K. Menon, based on an original story concept by Inspector Anshad.
While Roshan Mathew anchors the film in the central role, Shruthy Menon plays the female lead. The film boasts a stellar pan-Indian supporting cast including Baiju Santhosh, Atulya Chandra, Vineeth Thattil, and Shaju Sreedhar, alongside popular South Indian actors Harish and Vinod Sagar. Notably, prominent Bollywood actors Saiyami Kher and Mahesh Shetty play highly crucial characters, with child artists Master Aryan S. Poojari and Baby Mithra Sanjay appearing in key roles. The soundtrack features lyrics by veteran poets Shibu Chakravarthy and Santhosh Varma, set to melodies composed by Manikandan Ayyappa. On the technical front, Ajay David Kachappilly handles the cinematography, Renjan Abraham is the editor, and Saburam directs the art department. Other key crew members include P.V. Shankar (Makeup), Aisha Safir Seth (Costumes), Sreejith Chettippadi (Stills), Collins (Design), and K.J. Vinayan (Chief Associate Director). Having completed its extensive shooting schedules across diverse locations including Coorg, Kannur, Thalassery, Mumbai, Palakkad, and Ernakulam, the film will be brought to theaters by Century Films.
