THODUPUZHA: The production of the highly anticipated Malayalam feature film ‘Athimanoharam’, directed by Tharun Moorthy and produced by Ashiq Usman under the banner of Ashiq Usman Productions, has successfully completed nearly 90 days of its extensive shooting schedule. The project is currently progressing rapidly in Thodupuzha. Prior to this, the film underwent a rigorous two-week-long filming schedule in various parts of Kochi.
According to crew members, the ongoing production schedule is slated to wrap up by June 20, after which the team will take a temporary production break before resuming operations in mid-July. The makers clarified that the current schedule is being closed dynamically due to lead actor Mohanlal’s scheduled European tour starting in the last week of June. Once Mohanlal returns from his tour in the middle of July, the crew will instantly initiate the final phase of shooting. The extensive final schedule is planned to be shot across diverse locations including Thodupuzha, Kochi, Sabarimala, Hyderabad, and Mumbai. The major portions of the film’s total estimated 120-day schedule have already been successfully executed.
The cinematic plot tells the story of an ordinary police Sub-Inspector named Lovelajan, depicting the highly tense and dramatic events that unfold inside his professional career and personal life. National Award-winning actress Meera Jasmine is playing the female lead opposite Mohanlal, marking a highly anticipated onscreen reunion. The movie also boasts a massive star cast that significantly amplifies its cinematic appeal. Key roles in the project are played by popular actors including Lalu Alex, Manoj K. Jayan, Jagadish, Irshad, Sudheesh, Pramod Veliyanad, Sajeevan, Shrinath Babu, Kiran Peethambaran, Viji Viswanath, Bhama Arun, and Prarthana.
The script has been written by Ratheesh Ravi, who is well-known for his notable screenplays in films like Ishq, Alappuzha Gymkhana, and Maharani. On the technical front, hitmaker Jakes Bejoy is composing the musical tracks, while veteran technician Shaji Kumar is capturing the frames behind the camera. The post-production department features Vivek Harshan as the editor and Vishnu Govind handling the audiography. The other artistic members of the crew include Gokul Das (Art Direction), Ronex Xavier (Makeup), Mashar Hamsa (Costume Design), Binu Pappu (Co-Director), Mirash Khan (Chief Associate Director), alongside Afnas and Mohit Krishnan serving as Associate Directors. The production unit is managed by Amal C. Sadhar (Stills), Jomon Joy (Production Manager), Essan (Production Executive), and Sudharman Vallikkunnu (Production Controller). The film will be distributed in theatres across the state by Central Pictures.
