Pathanamthitta: The world-famous ritualistic feast, Aranmula Vallasadya, at the historic Aranmula Parthasarathy Temple is all set to begin today. Devaswom Minister K Muraleedharan will perform the official inauguration of the grand event at 12 PM. Union Minister Suresh Gopi will attend the ceremony as the chief guest, alongside Devaswom Board President K Jayakumar, and MLAs Abin Varkey and Pazhakulam Madhu.
Following the noon prayers, the ceremonial lamp in the ‘Aanakottil’ will be lit with the flame brought from the temple’s sanctum sanctorum. Traditional dishes will then be served on plantain leaves, formally marking the beginning of the 56-day-long Vallasadya festival. To accommodate the heavy rush of devotees traveling to Aranmula, the KSRTC has arranged 500 special bus services.
