CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR: The founding leader and convener of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), Abhijeet Dipke, on Sunday announced that his organisation is planning a massive agitation in New Delhi on September 5. Warning the authorities, he stated that the upcoming demonstration would be even larger than their previous protest at Jantar Mantar.
Speaking to reporters, Dipke claimed that the government failed to honor the promises made following the Jantar Mantar demonstration. He highlighted that cases registered against protesting students have not been withdrawn and financial assistance has not been provided to the families of those who tragically died by suicide.
Addressing recent social media controversy regarding climate activist Sonam Wangchuk’s remarks on CJP’s political motives, Dipke stated he took no offense. He urged the public to watch Wangchuk’s full interview, reinforcing his agreement with the activist’s primary point that emerging young leaders must set better standards than corrupt or criminal politicians.
Extending strong solidarity to Maratha quota movement leader Manoj Jarange Patil, Dipke urged the government to initiate an immediate dialogue rather than delaying action. He noted that citizen agitations are a last resort against government apathy regarding jobs and education, advising the administration not to repeat its past mistake of delaying talks as it did during CJP’s earlier demonstrations. Dipke added that he intends to meet Jarange in person during the ongoing movement.
