Air Arabia Services from Abha, Saudi Arabia Cancelled Until October 24; Expatriate Passengers Face Hardship.

RIYADH: In view of current circumstances, Air Arabia has temporarily suspended some of its key flight operations from Abha International Airport in Saudi Arabia until October 24. The suspended services include flights from Abha to Sharjah in the UAE and Cairo in Egypt. This decision affects flights operated under Air Arabia’s G9 and E5 codes. With the disruption of services, numerous expatriates, including Malayalis who were scheduled to travel from Abha via Sharjah to Kozhikode, Kochi, and Thiruvananthapuram airports, are facing severe travel difficulties. Air Arabia authorities stated that passengers who had booked tickets on the cancelled services have been duly notified. The airline has instructed the respective travel agencies to arrange necessary travel rescheduling and alternative arrangements for the affected passengers.

Further information regarding the resumption of flight services after October 24 will be officially announced by the Civil Aviation Authority after evaluating the conditions at that time. The authority stated that this precautionary measure is intended to prioritize the safety of passengers and flight crew while ensuring the integrity of the country’s civil aviation system.
