Bengal People Ready to Reply to Bombs with Votes; Determined to Evict Infiltrators, Says Amit Shah.

KOLKATA: Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated on Monday that the people of West Bengal are prepared to counter political violence and bombs with their votes in the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). During his campaign, he asserted that the electorate is determined to evict illegal infiltrators and expressed confidence that the BJP would form the next government in the state.

Speaking to PTI during a massive roadshow in Durgapur, Shah acknowledged that discrepancies in the voters’ list remain a “major issue” in these elections. He held Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and TMC General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee directly responsible for the prevailing political violence in West Bengal, claiming that the administration has failed to maintain law and order.

Earlier, while addressing a public gathering in Raniganj, Paschim Bardhaman, the Home Minister drew a comparison between Mamata Banerjee and Aam Janata Unnayan Party chief Humayun Kabir, calling them “two of a kind.” He further stirred the political pot by declaring that the BJP would never allow a “Babri Masjid” to be constructed in Bengal if the party is voted to power in the assembly elections.
