New Delhi: The Indian Air Force (IAF) Band will hold a special musical performance at the Public Plaza, Param Yodha Sthal, National War Memorial, New Delhi, on August 9 as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
The performance will be held from 5 pm to 6 pm and will celebrate the spirit of patriotism while marking 150 years of the National Song, ‘Vande Mataram’.
A 40-member team comprising 32 Airmen and eight Agniveervayu, including three women, will perform during the event. The band will present a selection of patriotic and soulful compositions aimed at engaging the public and fostering national pride.
The performance is expected to offer visitors an opportunity to experience the musical traditions of the Indian Air Force while commemorating the country’s Independence Day.
Master Warrant Officer A. Srihari will be the principal conductor. He will be assisted by Junior Warrant Officers Moon Deka and Abhishek Paul, and Sergeant N.T. Singh.
The event is part of the IAF’s public engagement activities around Independence Day and is intended to evoke patriotic sentiment through music at the National War Memorial.
