Minor Students Assaulted at Thiruvananthapuram Mandi Restaurant for Asking Extra Rice.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A complaint has been lodged alleging that hotel staff brutally assaulted minor students at a mandi restaurant in Kazhakkoottam after they requested a second serving of rice. The clash erupted between hotel employees and a four-member group of students at a prominent eatery in Kazhakkoottam. The assaulted children suffered severe injuries to their heads and bodies. Based on a complaint filed by the students’ parents, the Pettah Police have taken three persons into custody, including the restaurant owner.

The dispute began while the students were eating at the restaurant and requested additional mandi rice. The restaurant staff refused to serve extra rice. According to the complaint, even though the children offered to pay extra for the rice, the employees abused them claiming there was no rice left and tried to force them out of the shop. This triggered an altercation between the hotel staff and the students. Parents alleged that a mob of around twenty people, including restaurant staff and individuals called from outside, surrounded and brutally beat up the children.
