PM Modi Holds Massive Roadshow in Nagercoil; Joined by Edappadi Palaniswami.

NAGERCOIL: Prime Minister Narendra Modi led a high-voltage roadshow in Nagercoil on Wednesday, giving a massive push to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ahead of the April 23 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The event saw a historic show of unity as AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami joined the Prime Minister on the campaign trail, alongside BJP State President Nainar Nagendran and senior leader K. Annamalai. The town was swamped by huge crowds as the leaders sought support for alliance candidates.

Arriving from Thiruvananthapuram by helicopter at 4:10 PM, the Prime Minister reached Veppamoodu Junction by car shortly after. The 1.5-kilometer roadshow, which commenced around 4:30 PM and concluded at Vadaseri, featured PM Modi and Palaniswami atop a flower-decked vehicle. During the procession, the Prime Minister paid floral tributes to portraits of legendary icons including Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, K. Kamaraj, M.G. Ramachandran, and C.N. Annadurai, resonating with the local cultural and political sentiments.

Post the roadshow, PM Modi exuded confidence in an NDA victory, declaring that the ruling “DMK is losing for sure.” He asserted that the people of Tamil Nadu are ready for change and will vote for a “Viksit Tamil Nadu” (Developed Tamil Nadu). The joint appearance of Modi and Palaniswami is seen as a strategic move to consolidate votes against the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance. Over 2,000 police personnel were deployed to ensure security during the high-profile visit, which has significantly energized the NDA campaign in the southern districts.
