Doha: Qatar will enter one of the hottest periods of the summer starting July 16, as the Al-Han’ah Star rises, bringing peak daytime temperatures and increasing humidity, the Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) announced on Wednesday.
According to QMD, Al-Han’ah will remain visible for 13 days and is the fourth of the summer star periods. The star is also regarded as one of the northern stars.
The department stated that this period marks the peak of the summer heat, locally known as Jamrat Al-Qayz, with intense daytime temperatures continuing until around midnight.
QMD added that the dry spell gradually comes to an end during this period, while humidity levels rise, particularly in coastal areas, increasing the likelihood of fog formation. Winds are also expected to become generally calmer.
