HYDERABAD: Telugu superstar Ram Charan’s latest pan-Indian film, ‘Peddhi’, is shattering existing box office records worldwide. Within just three days of its theatrical release, the movie has amassed an astonishing global gross collection of Rs 236.70 crore. The film is quickly pacing ahead to become the biggest solo blockbuster in Ram Charan’s career. Trade analysts estimate that the big-budget project will comfortably touch the Rs 300 crore milestone as it concludes its extended four-day opening weekend. The movie, which accumulated nearly Rs 181 crore within its first two days, added another Rs 55 crore to its global gross collection on the third day. Apart from its phenomenal run in the domestic market, the film is receiving an overwhelming response internationally, indicating a record-breaking streak in overseas gross collections as well. The Malayalam and Tamil dubbed versions of the movie have been distributed across Kerala and Tamil Nadu by Think Studios. Directed by National Award winner Buchi Babu Sana, the film is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the banner of Vriddhi Cinemas, and presented jointly by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings.
Receiving stellar reviews from audiences right from its opening shows, the main highlight of the movie remains Ram Charan’s power-packed performance. Audiences have been highly praising the actor, noting that his massive physical transformation for the movie has resulted in one of the finest performances of his career. Ram Charan portrays the titular character ‘Peddhi’ in this rustic entertainer. The film’s star-studded cast also includes Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar, marking the very first on-screen collaboration between Ram Charan and Shiva Rajkumar.
