Thiruvananthapuram youth saves five lives through organ donation after fatal accident.

In a noble act of organ donation, 33-year-old Krishnalal from Thiruvananthapuram has given a new lease of life to five people after being declared brain dead following a road accident. Krishnalal, a welder by profession, was critically injured on April 1 when a car driven by an intoxicated driver struck his bicycle. Despite being rushed to a hospital, he passed away on April 4. With the courageous consent of his grieving family, six of his organs were harvested for transplantation.

The rescue mission for the recipients involved a high-speed coordination by K-SOTTO. His heart was airlifted from Thiruvananthapuram to Kottayam Medical College via a state-provided helicopter to save a 35-year-old man named Arun. Furthermore, his liver and kidneys were donated to patients at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College and KIMSHEALTH, while his corneas were sent to the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology. Krishnalal is survived by his father and two sisters, leaving behind a legacy of selflessness that has touched the entire state.
