Shoranur: A Train Ticket Examiner (TTE) was arrested by the Shoranur Railway Police for allegedly molesting a woman traveling with her husband inside a reservation coach on the Nizamuddin Express. The arrested officer has been identified as Shiju (47), a native of Kadakkal, Kollam. The incident occurred around 3:30 PM on Friday aboard the train traveling from Thiruvananthapuram to Nizamuddin.
According to the complaint, a couple from Kannur approached the TTE between Thrissur and Vallathol Nagar requesting seats. After providing a seat for the husband, the TTE offered to show the woman another vacant seat, during which he allegedly assaulted her. The victim immediately alerted the Shoranur Railway Police by phone, leading to his detention as soon as the train arrived at Shoranur station.
Police medical examinations confirmed that the accused was intoxicated at the time of the incident. Following the arrest, Railway authorities issued a suspension order against the official. He was produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
