THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Om Prakash Mathur was sworn in as the new Governor of Kerala. Kerala High Court Chief Justice Soumen Sen administered the oath of office to him at a brief swearing-in ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan.
Mathur assumed office following the transfer of former Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, who took over as the full-time Governor of Tamil Nadu. The ceremony was attended by Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan, Speaker Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, cabinet ministers, legislators, and senior government officials. However, the Leader of the Opposition did not attend the function.
