Dubai Set to Unveil World’s First 24-Carat Gold Walkway Before End of 2026.

DUBAI: The Dubai Gold District is preparing to unveil the emirate’s first gold-paved promenade before the end of this year. Crafted from 24-carat gold, the walkway is slated to become the world’s first and longest golden path, further enhancing Dubai’s status as a global hub for gold trading and tourism.

Rashid Al Harmoudi, Senior Director of the Commercial Sector at the Dubai Gold District, confirmed that the walkway will open within the next two months, serving as a premier tourist landmark. He emphasized that the initiative is aligned with broader strategic efforts to solidify Dubai’s leadership in international bullion trade and retail tourism.

The announcement was made on the sidelines of an event where Dubai secured two Guinness World Records for the heaviest and largest pair of gold earrings, handcrafted in the traditional South Asian jhumka design. Al Harmoudi noted that the new walkway will offer residents and international visitors a unique immersive experience. He also highlighted plans to launch a major trade exhibition in the district, aiming to establish the largest gold and jewelry show in the Middle East.

Underscoring the district’s rapid commercial growth, Al Harmoudi revealed a 20 percent increase in the number of wholesale gold trading offices operating in the area since the beginning of the year, alongside a 15 percent rise in retail outlets specializing in gold, jewelry, precious stones, and luxury timepieces.

Ongoing infrastructure expansion works are currently underway across the Dubai Gold District to accommodate the surge in global jewelry houses relocating their regional operations. Officials project a further 10 to 20 percent influx of international companies over the coming year as new commercial and retail spaces are handed over.
