The official launch and principal photography of the upcoming Malayalam film ‘Adi Padalam Kali Abhyasam’ has commenced. Blending humor, romance, thrill, and action, the movie is being crafted as a complete romantic comedy entertainer. The makers have promised that the film will live up to its title, serving as a laughter-filled entertainer packed with comic elements.
Directed by newcomer Deepak Babu, the project is bankrolled by Sree Gokulam Gopalan, Krishnamoorthy, and filmmaker Ajai Vasudev under the banner of Sree Gokulam Movies in association with Dreams of Ajai Vasudev. Baiju Gopalan and V.C. Praveen are onboard as the co-producers. The traditional switch-on and pooja ceremony took place on Sunday at Gokulam Studios in Pookkattupady, Kochi.
The switch-on ceremony was graced by several prominent figures from the film fraternity. The director’s parents, Babu and Kumari, lit the ceremonial lamp. Filmmakers and actors including G. Marthandan, Udayakrishna, Mathew Thomas, Vishnu Mohan, G.S. Vijayan, Mohan Sithara, Ganapathi, Vineeth Thattil, Ameen, Nayanthara Chakravarthy, Dhanasree Sudhakaran, Suraj, Nidhish, and Ashokan attended the launch event.
The camera was switched on by Ajai Vasudev’s parents, K. Vasudevan and B. Radhamma, alongside scriptwriter Anirudh’s mother, Sasikala. The first clap was delivered jointly by Pramod Veliyanad, Poojappura Radhakrishnan, and Sujith of Dream Big Films.
The movie features an engaging plot set against the backdrop of a remote police station in Kolagappara village, Wayanad. The entire story unfolds within the span of a single day, revolving around three young men who unexpectedly end up at the station and the comical predicaments they encounter thereafter.
The star cast includes Ganapathi, Ameen, social media influencer Jishnu, Master Arnav, Nayanthara Chakravarthy, Dhanasree Sudhakaran, Vineeth Thattil, Pramod Veliyanad, Noby Marcose, Senthil Krishna, Poojappura Radhakrishnan, Sabu Pravadeen, Kutty Akhil, Akhila, Ashokan, and Anirudh.
On the technical front, the film features a strong crew with scriptwriting by Anirudh, music composed by Bibin Ashok, and cinematography by Shiju M. Bhaskar. Riyas K. Badhar handles the editing, while Nimesh M. Tanur is the art director. Other crew members include Manoj Manu for makeup, Venki for costumes, Stunt Silva for action sequences, and Shane Sadookka for stills.
The production setup is led by Production Controller Suresh Mithrakkari, Chief Associate Director Sujay S. Kumar, and Associate Directors Rees Thomas and Shafin Zulfiker. The financial management is handled by Sreejith Mannarkkad and Rabin C. Ravi, while Rahul Kannur and Aromal serve as the production managers. The movie will be shot across various locations in Wayanad, Thrissur, and Kochi.
