KOCHI: The highly anticipated film ‘Pallichattambi,’ starring Tovino Thomas and directed by Dijo Jose Antony, is all set to hit the silver screen. Scheduled as a Vishu release, the movie will arrive in theaters on April 15. The film is crafted as a period drama thriller set in the late 1950s and 60s.
The narrative of ‘Pallichattambi’ is set against the backdrop of the lives and struggles of migrant farmers in the hilly regions during 1957-58. Since its announcement, the film has generated immense hype among the audience. It promises to be a treat for action lovers, showcasing Tovino Thomas in a powerful “mass” avatar. Early glimpses from the trailer suggest that Tovino’s performance might even surpass his celebrated role as ‘Maniyan’ in the film ARM.
Kayadu Lohar plays the female lead in this venture. The project marks the reunion of director Dijo Jose Antony and music composer Jakes Bejoy following their successful collaborations in Queen, Jana Gana Mana, and Malayalee From India.
