PATHANAMTHITTA: In a shocking incident, the Koodal police have registered two separate First Information Reports (FIRs) against a group of minors following complaints that a 13-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by her classmates in Pathanamthitta. The highly disturbing incident came to light after the survivor, a student of Class 9, confessed to the harrowing experience during a routine counseling session conducted at her school. Preliminary investigations indicate that eight minor students are arrayed as accused in the case, and law enforcement officials have successfully identified six of them so far. Notably, the group of accused includes a minor girl as well.
According to the police, all the accused are students studying in the same school as the survivor. The victim revealed that the sexual exploitation took place initially at a location situated near the school premises and subsequently at the residence of the minor girl who is one of the accused in the case. Following the disclosure during the institutional counseling session, the school authorities promptly alerted the local law enforcement. Given that all the suspects involved in the crime are minors, the Koodal police are carefully proceeding with statutory legal measures and documentation in accordance with juvenile justice protocols.
