MUMBAI / KOTA: In a major breakthrough, a joint operation by the Rajasthan Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) and Kota City Police successfully nabbed all three shooters involved in the attack targeting Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff. The suspects were intercepted at Kota Railway Station in Rajasthan while traveling on the Pune-Jaipur Express following inputs shared by the Mumbai Police.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects fled towards Surat in Gujarat before boarding the interstate train to evade law enforcement agencies. Among the three arrested, two are natives of Sonipat, Haryana, while one hails from Begusarai, Bihar. Officials confirmed that all three suspects are associated with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
The arrested individuals have been identified as 22-year-old Hritik Kumar alias Roshan, a native of Begusarai who works as a Rapido driver in Mumbai’s Andheri West, 18-year-old Rehan from Sonipat, and a 17-year-old minor also from Sonipat. Investigators suspect two of them were hired hitmen, while the third facilitated their getaway. Family sources revealed that Rehan, a school dropout previously incarcerated under the Arms Act, continued his criminal associations despite family intervention.
Detailing the arrest, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated, “We have nabbed them from Rajasthan. They fled towards Surat and boarded a Pune-Jaipur Express train. Mumbai Police shared real-time intelligence with Rajasthan Police, leading to their swift apprehension at Kota station.”
Investigations by police agencies indicate that the attack was carefully orchestrated by trained shooters who conducted a detailed reconnaissance of the 36-year-old actor’s routine. Knowing that Shroff regularly visits the Juhu football ground on Sundays, the assailants timed the attack as his vehicle exited the venue. Following the firing, the shooters fled along SV Road, abandoned their motorcycle near Andheri West railway station, and boarded a train towards Borivali before escaping across the Maharashtra border.
The firing incident occurred on Sunday evening when unidentified assailants fired five rounds at Tiger Shroff’s car in Juhu. While the actor escaped unhurt, his driver, Firdous, and a bystander sustained injuries from shattered glass and debris. Although the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the attack via a viral social media post, law enforcement agencies are currently verifying its authenticity.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Shroff at his Bandra residence to review his security and inquire about his health. Issuing a stern warning against organized crime, Shinde affirmed that gang violence would be met with an iron fist, stating, “Their roots were dug up in the 1990s when gang wars flourished. The time has come to uproot them again. It will be tit for tat, bullets for bullets.”
