Saudi Arabia and Kuwait Condemn Houthi Strikes on Civilian Infrastructure; Vow Joint Response Against Regional Threats.

RIYADH: The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait strongly condemned the continuous attacks and military threats issued by Houthi militias targeting civilian infrastructure across neighboring Gulf nations during a high-level diplomatic phone call on Tuesday.

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah reaffirmed total solidarity between the Kingdom and Kuwait in countering cross-border aggression from the Iran-backed group, noting that strikes on civilian zones pose a severe threat to broader regional security and stability.

The escalation comes as Houthi forces in Yemen intensified missile and drone strikes against Saudi Arabia this month, targeting major commercial airports, energy facilities, and residential areas. The wave of attacks includes multiple strikes hitting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh alongside other regional aviation hubs.

Both Saudi Arabia and Kuwait are core members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), alongside the UAE, Qatar, Oman, and Bahrain. Member states across the regional bloc have faced unprecedented security challenges, encountering direct and proxy strikes originating from Iran, Yemen, and Iraq following the military campaign launched by US and Israeli forces against Tehran’s military infrastructure.
